2016 Service to Mankind award

Middleton Sertoma presents the Service to mankind award for 2016 to Joe Herr.  Joe he founded Logan’s Heart and Smiles.  Logan’s Heart & Smiles provides free labor and materials (based on income) to help ease the burden families with disabled children face.  Joe (on right) was introduced by Curt Norton (on left). As of today, the organization he founded, has helped 97 families by building 63 ramps, 10 fences and many other projects.
Using his skills as a carpenter along with a few family and friends, Joe has helped many families by building ramps, fences and making home modifications. Joe also serves as President on the Board of the Family Support and Resource Center of Dane County.

Scholarships awarded by Middleton Sertoma

Middleton Sertoma awards Scholarships to Cody Markel and to Akash Pattnaik, newly graduated seniors from Middleton-Cross Planes High School. 

 In a recent meeting at Fitzgeralds of Middleton Mark Schmidt, Middleton Sertoma Club president presents the check to Cody Markel and to Akash Pattnaik.  Cody is the son of
Lisa Steinkamp and Mark Markel. Cody plans to attend Vanderbilt in the fall, studying medicine, health, society.
 Akash is the son of Bikash and Nibedita Pattnaik.  Akash plans to attend Princeton University in the fall to major in bio-engineering.
