Service to Mankind Award Recepients

Neil Vassau received the 2017 Service to Mankind Award for his volunteer service
from Mark Schmidt, president of Middleton Sertoma at a recent meeting at the Imperial Garden. The Service to Mankind Award is the highest honor Sertoma, Inc. (formerly Sertoma International) can bestow on a non-Sertoman.  The award honors outstanding volunteer service to the community. With his volunteering at his  church, St. Thomas, his work with the MAFPG (Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens) greenhouse, his work at both the Witte and MOM (Middleton Outreach Ministry) gardens, plus volunteering 2 mornings a week at the MOM food pantry warehouse inventory support. Neil has shown a high level of volunteer serving in our Good Neighbor city. Congratulations Neil.

In the second photo  Joe Herr received the Il/WI District Service to Mankind (STM) award for 2017 from Curt Norton, vice-president of Middleton Sertoma at a recent meeting at the Imperial Garden.  Joe was our 2016 The Service to Mankind Award recipient.  In district competition Joe's volunteerism out-shined the other worthy candidates. The award honors outstanding volunteer service to our community, specifically  he founded Logan’s Heart and Smiles and his work with that organization.
Joe, congratulations and thank you for all your effort.
